Remove hidden data from a PDF

A PDF carries information you can’t see: the name of whoever created it, the software used, dates, sometimes attachments and editing history. See what is there and remove it before sending the file.

Your files stay on your device: no uploads, no sign-up.

How to remove hidden data

  1. Open one or more PDFs: you see straight away what they contain besides the pages.
  2. Choose what to remove. The recommended items are already ticked.
  3. Press Clean and download. With several files you get one ZIP.

Frequently asked questions

Does anything change in the pages?

Does it remove a name written in the document?

No, this tool works on hidden data. To cover visible text, such as a name or an ID number, use Redact sensitive data.
